Baby Vaccinations and Immunisations
One of the best ways to protect your baby against diseases like measles, rubella, tetanus and meningitis is through immunisation. Your baby needs their first injections at eight weeks, then 12 weeks, 16 weeks and one year.
Vaccinations are offered free of charge in the UK – just book your appointments with your GP. Remember, as well as protecting your own baby, you’re also protecting other babies and children by preventing the spread of disease.

Changes to Alexandra Avenue Health Centre
From 1 November 2018, patients will need to book their appointment before arriving at the Alexandra Health Care Centre. GP appointments will be available 8am-8pm seven days a week.
You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation. Its open 24/7 every day of the year and is free to call from mobiles and landlines.
Mum & Baby App
The North West London LMS co-designed Mum & Baby is a digital maternity app, in collaboration with local women, signposts women to self-refer for maternity care.
There is also a short video available outlining the features of the app.
Royal Free Maternity Services
We offer maternity care from several hospitals and community hubs. Our two main maternity hospitals are Barnet Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. We also provide maternity services at Chase Farm Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital, Cheshunt Community Hospital, Finchley Memorial Hospital and a range of health centres, GP practices, children’s centres and other community locations.
Mental Health Support in Harrow
Harrow Citizens Mental Health Action Team are a group of volunteers from local churches, mosques, synagogues and schools who have found that poor mental health and wellbeing is a major concern to people in Harrow.
